Testament dative and inventory of Effrick nein Donochie (spouse of Ruary McInnes vc Ewin in Annat, parish of Oilinfinan), who died in December 1680, given up by the said Ruary in name of Christian, Moir, Donald, John and Anna, their children.
Goods pertaining to the defunct - eight great cows, £106,13s,4d.: two two-year olds, £12: a mare and follower, £26,13s,4d; four cows' worth of sheep and goats, £53,6s,8d.: four bolls of victual, £21,6s,8d.; utencils etc., £8. Total £228.
No debts owing to the defunct.

Goods pertaining to the deceased and to Margaret NcDonald, his relict:- fifty-one great cows, £680; four "entring" cows, £40; six two-year-olds, £36; ten stirks, £30; a stot, £6,13s.4d.; a mare with two followers, £20; four bolls victual, £21,6s.8d.; sheep and goats worth four cows, £53,6s.8d.; Utensils etc. £18.

Alan McDonald was probably the nephew named in 1625 (indistinct) in a tack given of Dalilea by Clanranald to John Ranaldson and after him to his Brothers son Allan - This Allan was probably son to Ranald I of Benbecula - Page 278 - Vol 3 - Clan Donald.

4 firlotts - each firlott containing 5 pecks goes to the "boll" of victual, and 21 pounds - each pound containing 16 ounces, goes to the stone weight of butter - (Report David Bruce 1748/49 for Forfeited Estates Com.)

Four cows, £53,6s.8d.; two stirks, £6,13s.4d.; sixteen sheep and goats, £21,6s.8d.; sown of corn, half a boll at the fourth which is two bolls, £5,6s.8d.; household plenishing, £2. Total - £88,3s.4d.
John McSuine in Lochanin became cautioner - "cannot wrytt".

The testament dative and inventory of the debts and sums of money which pertained and were addebted resting and owing the deceast Patrick McIntyre, late surgeon in Strontian, at the time of his decease, faithfully made and given up by the said defunct and executor dative qua nearest in kinn decerned to him by decreet dative of the commissary substitute of the commissariot of Argyll of date the twenty fifth day of April one thousand seven hundred and seventy four years.
Inventary
There was justly addebted resting and owing the said defunct the time of his decease by Mr. John McAulay, minister of Lesmore, the sum of twenty pounds sterling money of principall contained in a bill dated the twenty first day of July one thousand seven hundred and sixty one years, drawn by the said defunct upon and accepted by the said Mr. John McAulay, payable two months after date and interest of the foresaid sum from the term of payment to the defuncts death.

I Lachlan Campbell writer in Inverary, substitute to Mr Archibald Campbell of Stonefield, advocate, commissary depute of the commissariot of Argyll, understanding that after due summoning and lawfull warning made by publick form of edict openly as effeirs of the executors testamentars, spouse, bairns (if any be) and intromitters with the goods and gear of the said deceast Patrick McIntyre and all others having or pretending to have interest in the said matter to have compeared judicially before the principall commissary of the said commissariot of his depute on a certain day now bygane to have answered at the instance of the said James McIntyre, lawfull son and nearest in kinn to the said defunct, and have heard and seen executors dative qua nearest in kinn decerned given in admitted and confirmed to the said defunct and in and to all and sundry goods gear corns cattle nolt sheep insight plenishing debts sums of money gold and silver coined and uncoined and other moveables whatsoever which pertained and belonged and were addebted resting and owing the said defunct the time of his decease or else to have alledged a reasonable cause in the contrary, with certification as effeired, I decerned thereintill as my decreet dative of the date above written bears, conform whereunto I in our sovereign lords name and authority and mine make constitute ordain and confirm the said James McIntyre in only executor dative qua nearest in kinn to the said deceast Patrick McIntyre, his father, and in and to the sum of money principall and interest contained in the foregoing inventary, with power to him to ask crave receive intromitt with and uplift the same and generally every other thing thereanent to do use and exerce which to the office of executry in the like cases by the laws and customs of Scotland is known to appertain, providing always the said James McIntyre render just comp reckoning and payment of his intromissions therewith when and where the same shall be legally required. Whereupon, and that the said sums of money contained in the foregoing inventary shall be made furthcoming to all partys having interest as law will, Donald McIntyre, tacksman of Kinnachreaken, is become cautioner, as a bond of cautionry given in thereanent bears. In testimony whereof these presents are subscribed by me and the clerk of the court at Inveraray the second day of January one thousand seven hundred and seventy six years. (Signed:) Lach.
