after 3 nights stay at Glenfinnin his R. H. set out upon *1

the 12th with Lochiels and Keppochs ^ only in order to encamp
                                                           whence
that night at Fasfearn in Lochaber from ^ which he
marched nixt morning to Moy, Clanronald's Regi-
ment being ordered to follow with the baggage &c
and prisoners from the head of Lochseal to the Camp
at Moy where we joined them (after a good deal of *2
fatigue) on the 16th, from whence we marched nixt *3
morning in order to encamp at Latterfinla. But

noch he marched on under night with Clanronalds
and Keppoch's Battalions till he came to the Castle of
Invergarie from whence he marched nixt day to
Obertairve in Glengarie where Lochiel came up wth

us. Here Stewart of Ardsheil joined ^ us with 200 of
the Appin men; Also the Mcdonalds of Glengarie
          comded by D. Mcdonald of Lochgarie.
being 600 good men ^ The P. being fully resolved
to stop the further progress of the Governments
troops a Council of war was held at Obertairv where
it was chearfully resolved to take possession of the
Defiles of the Mountain Coryerrag between Glen
garie & Badenoch before. Genl. Cope should reach

them. Accordingly his R. H. set out at 6 in the ^ *4
