Comments

This inserted page appears to be original notes. Virtually all the crossed out material is incorporated in the Journal on pages 33 and 34, but in a different sequence.

The first four lines in their entirety up to "to form till their foot should come up is in second paragraph of page 33. The next five lines, commencing "we immediatly formed, Keppochs men on the right Battal" are at the top of page 34 of the Journal as follows "Keppoch had by consent the Right right of all, as Clanronald had at the battle of Prestonpans"; then the Journal jumps back to page 33 and uses the rest of the insert "The P. seeing the intention of the Enemys Horse….." in the middle of the page.

Hawley is in the Journal, but Lockhart substitutes the Clans.
